Violence against persons with disabilities is a frequently unrecognized and under reported problem that has reached epidemic proportions in the United States.

 
Most people in our society refuse to believe that anyone would even consider abusing, neglecting or exploiting a person with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD). But adults with I/DD are being verbally, fiscally, physically, and sexually abused.  And it must stop.
